To be fair though RS6Brit, I think 19's are quite a bit of a price jump from 18's, as they are less common. Have you got an RS6 then?

Alas no more, twas my last motor.  My pockets just arent deep enough to run one. It was awesome but to be fair alot of the equipment had started to feel dated. I did love it to bits but I'm revelling the handling of the Cupra, and the power is not bad either, and i'm nearly ready for stage 2+ remap so the power to weight will be as near as damn it to the RS6.

I knew that 19's would be more pricey to fit tyres to but i didnt realise just how much more. Still 19's are essential to fit over the new brake setup that I've just bought (my old S3 setup will be for sale in a week).

I called these guys last year (Via ebay, user id ears-motorsport) as they had the tyres I wanted on ebay, I asked if its cheaper to buy direct and they said NO!.

I asked why and the guy said its easier for us on ebay and then tried to tell me they dont pay Ebay fees and no discounts were given to buyers buying direct!, I then explained to him that they did pay ebay fees and that they only paid 10% less fees than me!, (easy to check on various websites what volume they are selling and work out what fees they would pay!),  I am also an ebay top rated powerseller like them so knoew exactly what they paid!

I then asked if i came to collect and buy direct and paid cash (Rather than paypal/credit card etc would it be any cheaper?), NO again, only no shipping would be paid.

So basically they sell on their website at almost the same price as you buy them for on ebay (The tyres your after are in their ebay shop for £107.99 plus £5 post, thats a massive 50p per pair shipped more expensive than buying direct from them, even tho they pay 8.4% in ebay fees, then you can add Paypal (or credit card) fees of 2.9% to 3.6% (Average 3.25%) so they pay 11.65% in fees and they dont discount if you collect and pay them cash

Sounds a bit short-sighted to me, if I was in the market for Tyres I would buy them off ebay and spend the extra £1, as you get both paypal and buyer protection as well as your credit card companies protection if anything goes wrong, plus if they are mad enough to prefer selling on ebay to selling via website or direct they must prefer to pay the fees  :fighting:

Off soapbox, rant over!!

And yes I did buy 4 tyres from them VIA Ebay and they arrived within 48 hours and were absolutely fine, they also paid £29.87 in ebay fees on my purchase, all because the man he say no discount for collection  :signLOL:

yeah i noticed thay also had a shop on ebay also, took me a while to realise they were the same company.  It is very strange that the prices are almost the same if you buy direct from their website.   very strange they wouldnt give you a lower price if you went to them, because as you say the ebay fees they are paying must be a few quid, so they could offer that off the price to go direct.

but i think their price for the tyres is a good one, so i wouldnt knock them too much, just hope they are ok to deal with

Yes it is a strange decision alright, as an ebay seller myself we do things differently, the prices on our website reflect the lack of ebay fees (so they are 8% lower).

Maybe they are just set up to take Ebay orders and to deal direct costs them more than £30 for a man to print a receipt

Yes their prices are good on some tyres althopugh my last purchase for Tyres last week was from Camskill as they came up cheapest for the Tyres I wanted
