lads, how is it possible to get more then 40 mpg on gti??? I doubt that computer readings are right.... I drove to work today gti stage 1 and 60 mph all the time and totalled 8l per 100km which is 35 mpg... on a motorway, perhaps if you just start your engine and hit the motorway straight away then keep 40mph all the way and not one stop nor traffic lights and just to add to that +18 degrees so that the engine warms up quickly it would be doable for me anyway.... I guess the post should be titled what is your car computer display MPG record and not MPG record??

Good point about the accuracy of the computer....however I will confirm the "actual" MPG I am getting for this tank of fuel via litres to fill Vs Miles covered...tomorrow when I fill up. We will see the difference.
Also, bear in mind the figure pictured was for a single journey, so please view it in that context .

Exactly, I drive 80% motorway and 20% city and heavy traffic and the average full tank based on actual usage consumption would be 10l per 100 km

Best ever sustained mpg was 42.9 over 100miles on the M1. doing about 65mph and the road works helped.

Funny this thread should pop up, I've been getting an average of 18MPG over a full tank of VPower :sad1:

Mind u this has been on short journeys & lots of start/stop sadly. Over a full tank of VPower I'm getting around 195 miles

Currently the trip says I have covered 648 miles and I still have 70 miles range, that's a lot of miles to a tank (zero range on display) Will fill up tomorrow and work out actual MPG for the tank full.

Sorted my tyre pressures out this morning.  Seems running 1.6 bar instead of 2.5 bar is the reason I've been struggling of late.  Nice country road route today, 13 miles at the speed dictated by the people in front of me... not bad for stage 1 gti
