Lux Pack Option - Retrofit?
« on: November 27, 2011, 11:53:33 pm »
Ive read about the lux pack folding mirrors and the passenger mirror turnings down when reversing.

Any chance of this being sorted to a golf without the pack?

Will it involve parts swopping or just coding?

Thanks,

James

I've fitted the folding mirrors to my car.

Need to change the mirrors, door controllers and mirror switch. Also needs a bit of coding.

IMO, The folding mirrors on the mk5 are a bit of a joke to be honest, they only fold in about 45 degrees before catching because the mirror arms aren't long enough for them to clear the body. Poor design, but remedied on the mk6.

Fold enough for me to get in and out my garage!

So would the Mk6 mirrors fit to the Mk5 if they are better?

That's gay.

Anyone got a photo of what the mk5 ones look like web they are folded?

I'm more bothered about the parking mirror turning down tbh.

The part numbers I've got fitted are:

Drivers side 1K0 959 701G
Passenger side 1K0 959 702G

Both of these are a MAX1.

I haven't managed to get the mirror to dip on reverse though, my car must still be missing something.

As said in the post above it depends what year your car is as to what controller you will need. My car is a 2006 & I think the controllers & mirrors I fitted came off a 2005 car.

If you do a search for folding mirrors you will find all the confusion involved with the different controllers!!

You won't get mirror dip with GEN1 or GEN2
You need a GEN3 door controller and a Memory mirror

My ED30 passenger mirror moves when I reverse, however its currently rubbish!, it does not go down, only comes inwards a little, not much help really!, then when It does not re-set to where it was before, so basically I dont have the mirror switch set to passenger position!  :happy2:
