For those who want fogs as drl's........
« on: December 03, 2011, 03:58:26 pm »
I have finally figured it out, tis possible via 2 clicks on vagcom  :happy2:

Boom.....

The fogs now come on with the ignition and turn off when lights are switched on....

 :jumpmove:

But how is this done I hear you cry...

Go "central electronics controller 09"
"coding 07"
"long coding helper"
then you need to go to "byte 17" and activate "daytime running light via fog light" like so...

Then go back to "byte 11" where you will find "front parking light dimming", in the box on the right choose what dimming setting you would like 0-100%, in the picture below I have them set at 80 as you can see!

Then "exit" long coding helper, press "do it" and the jobs a good'un!  :happy2:  I will take thankyou donations in the form of pounds sterling

Do the fogs still come on as DRLs when in the auto light position?

I also read somewhere that whatever percentage they are set at for DRL's, that's what they'll be when used as fogs. So if set at 10% to give you a nice DRL glow, when you want fogs they will only come on at 10%. Not tried it myself so can't confirm.

Nope they go back upto full power sir,  just tried it but set them at 40% and has mine is the 30byte module its on byte 20 to set the dimming and has per instructions bytes 17 to turn the DRL's has fogs on :happy2:

^ They react to the dusk sensor too Mr M, so they're dynamic DRL's (or whatever you want to call them, in that - I mean they're automatically triggered in daylight).

You can also switch to the '0' setting on the headlight switch which puts them on too regardless of whether it's daylight/night time.
They'll also de-activate when the handbrake is applied, then re-illuminate when the handbrake is released and a gear is selected/engaged  :happy2:
