Berg if you do serious DJing the difference will be night and day, I am much more confident using my MacBook for gigs than I was when I used to run a windows laptop.programs like traktor etc run a lot better.
If you want to be really flash get an iPad as well and you can use it as a midi controller!

If you want a laptop for DJ work, you need to find the software you want to use first then get the OS that it runs on.

I've used Macs and Windows, and always find myself going back to Windows, Macs appear to be so overpriced for what they do

My new Windows laptop gets me up and running at the desktop in under 6 seconds, so they are not all slow and clunky (love my SSD  )

If you are set on getting a Mac, isn't there talk on new hardware coming out soon

hi mate, yeah i do but am still unsure about taking leap into ableton but the macbook will possibly give me the shove, i still like to manually sync the beats you see so enjoy the cdjs and 1210's, but even if dont use ableton can use the laptop to d/l all tunes and keep all mixes on etc as mu current desktop does not get on too well with beatport

....If you do live stuff, Ableton Live is definitely a great way to go.
