Import Suspension Differences

Hi guys, my car is a 2006 UK spec import from Holland. As a result of an accident it is having some front suspension parts replacing, however the garage are saying that these parts differ from that on a UK car. I'm pretty skeptical of this to be honest.

Anyone know anything about this?

Apparently it is the hub, knuckle and bearing that need replacing.

Can't see why it would be different.  Are they maybe confused because they are (somehow) looking at LHD parts and the p/n's aren't tying up with whats already on the car?

Not sure, they also mentioned being sent post-facelift parts, but I wasn't aware it had been facelifted. Obviously the engine was revised but I disn't think any suspension parts had.

If it's a GTI there is only one part that changed dependend on
equipment and year:

- the front arm

Cast steel (all with Xenon + later cars) and sheet metal (early
ones without Xenon).

I'd go for alloy arms as these aren't more expensive and come
with better bushes. Replace both sides as the OEM bushes
often seem weak.

Cheers Bruce. They didn't mention that the front arm needed replacing, however I guess with a side impact it's quite likely to bend.
