Bummer, that is the exact one that is on it's way to me. Guess I better get in touch with the company then. Anybody want a 5N0035730D?

So I am better off going with the 7P6 with my iphone 4 and the red display? This will then allow me to pair with the phone from the 510 right?

Yes I have 7P6035730B and works fine with my iPhone 4S, RNS510 and red highline.
I also first bought the 5N0 unit as it was the newest at the time, you shouldn't have any trouble selling it to a MK6 owner.

Mmmm, thanks for the info. It seems they only have the 7P6 035 730F. Would this be ok?

Sorry Tim for hi-jacking your thread, but this is all good info, lol.

Meant to add Kalu, could you not even pair it from the MFSW?

I did get it to pair by fitting temporarily a white led dash from a MK6.
After the phone had been paired once it will remember the device.

However this is hardly an ideal solution!

About the 7P6035730F, I have no personal experience with this unit.

Apologies, but I seem to have got my wires crossed, the 3C8 is newer than the 5N0, with production started in week 22, 2011. Bummer, that's the problem trying to understand someone else typing English from a foreign language, lol.

Well seems like I need to sell the 5N0 then and re-order a 3C8.

Kalu, do you know if that will pair fine through the RNS?

No problem!
It's good to know that indeed not al new models are working, looking at the pairing-issue!

So your 7P6 is also vissible in the mfa+(red highline)?!?

No sorry for confusion, it doesn't display anything on the red highline, just the RNS510. I just meant this is the setup I have...

Thanks!
So 7P6 is the best option for us mkv owners with rns510 and new model phones (doesn't matter if you have small or large mfa. On both nothing visible)
Not 3c8 or 5N0...

For anyone wanting the 1Z0 035 729 B this is the cheapest place for a new kit that I know of, £331 delivered.

Also spotted this but doesn’t say about it been the B version, may be worth someone enquiring.

The 7P6 has now been replaced by 5K0 but from my understanding they are identical, so nothing on mfd unless it's white or colour screen but everything it works and pairs on the RNS.

5N0's you need the mfd to pair but they only work with white mfd. don't know about 3c8's.

Does this mean the 7P6035730F should work? Will all the 7P's work the same?

From what I've read the 7p6 should work fine and not read anything about them needing to be a certain revision and they are now superseded by the 5k0's..

Here's my thread where I've basically been going through the same

Why is there an extra GSM ANTENNA included on some models?
On 7P6 I don't see the extra connector/antenna, but for example on 3C8 modules, there is:

7P6:

When connected in rsap profile the phone is asleep hence the phones internal antenna is not used.
This is why the bluetooth unit has its own antenna.

When connected in UHV profile the phone aerial is used.
On UHV only units the extra antenna is not required and therefore not fitted.
