With highline you have the ability to change certain settings on the car like how it unlocks from the remote. Drivers door or all doors, auto lock when driving off etc.
There are a few others but I can't remember at the moment.

As well as additional features it also allows you to display the audio info through it, so radio station or CD track.
Makes it handy for upgrading to an rns510 sat nav as well because it will also display the journey details.

bearing in mind that this 'ability to change certain settings on teh car like unlocking and lights' etc etc only comes after you ALSO upgrade the CECM module to a highline and the CCM to a highline module...

Can you explain about the CECM & CCM module?

The car i have just bought has highline, but not MFSW, which will be retro fitted shortly.

i'm assuming you have the up/down and menu buttons on the wiper stalk to navigate the menu's?

if you have then you should be able to navigate into the settings menu etc using those, once you got the MFSW you'll be able to do that using the steering wheel...well worth it!

oooh make sure you get one with the paddles then!

that's not too bad a price for a flat bottomed DSG steering wheel into which your normal airbag should drop into (assuming you've got the 3 spoke steering wheel already) then all you'd need is an airbag harness which isnt much from the dealer and maybe one or two other bits which some of the more experienced users such as eddie-nl may chime in with and your good to go!

Was the flat bottomed steering wheel not standard on gti's

Mine has it and I'm pretty sure it wasn't an optional extra.
