I think i've bought a Fake Edition 30 Splitter (pics added)

I bought an Edition 30 front splitter off ebay and the item has arrived but it has no part number or vw logo stamped anywhere on it.
Have i bought a copy part?

I'll get pics up soon as i can

if it hasnt got a VW logo stamped on it or a part number of some sort then its quite unlikely...

Looks as fake as they come mate.
Was it off a seller that had a blue GTI with yellow side markers in?
I bought one about 12 months ago, almost drove over it when saw the quality, sent it back and insisted on shipping £ being given back too for my troubles.
About £120?

Yeah that looks fake unfortunately. The shape on the inside doesn't look the same.  :sad1:

Is it supposed to be black or have you got to paint it? Genuine ones unpainted come in grey primer.

what sort of money did you pay & is it new or 2nd hand?

Just looked again and it looks like each end of the splitter doesn't return round (if that makes sense)

Got it off a seller on ebay
He's selling various parts off vw's, mercs etc
It came that colour, Shiny black
It is new and cost £166 delivered.
I guess it's my own fault for not asking if it was a genuine vw part.
He didn't state in his ad that it was genuine so i suppose he's done nothing wrong,

I'd email him and try and dispute if your not happy.

Although he's not said its genuine, has he stated that it's a copy/replica part?  I'm your eyes, he's advertised it as an edition 30 splitter & what he's sent you isn't one.

Contacting him is the first thing to do

£166 for a fake one theres one on ebay genuine for £100 buy it now im sure u could offer him sumat as some of the tabs are broken

Thats an R32 splitter so will only fit an R32 bumper. Good price though
