Buying a mk5 GTi - German service manual?
« on: January 15, 2012, 10:42:11 am »
Hello,

I am buying a mk5 Gti, coming from a mk4, I have been sent photos of the service manual from the dealer and although it has been regularly serviced, the manual is in german, is this normal? It is a UK spec 07 car. Image of one of the pages:

Also is it normal to have no details filled in, just a stamp?

Thanks

The car is an import

The reason that it is not filled in: The technician doesn't have any knowledge of the german language :signLOL:

Make sure the car has full UK spec

2 zone climate
Alarm with interior monitoring and tilt sensor

It defiantly has dual zone climate control, not sure about the alarm.
Are there any disadvantages with an import - insurance etc.

Thanks for the reply.

Hi

Make sure it has an alarm as you may struggle getting insurance

Also make sure the car was imported from an EU country and not from UAE

Make sure that the spec is the same and that you pay less for it.
