Grooved disc rotation???
« on: January 21, 2012, 02:37:05 pm »
Yo just had my rear discs fitted drilled and grooved ones so I'm running d&g front and back but the front grooves run clockwise  (vented)and the rear anticlockwise (unvented) so what's the deal I've heard the groves push air away and drag air in some say doesn't matter some say unvented need groves pulling in air or is it just brand specific ?

Cheers andy

Lots of usefull info here: http://www.stoptech.com/technical-support/technical-white-papers

If the disc is vented then its the direction of the vanes in the disc that determines fitment, not the grooves. If not vented then the grooves should sweep the pad and not cut into it.
