Desperately seeking steelies..
« on: April 23, 2009, 03:13:36 pm »
I've been doing a bit of fishing around, and it would appear that in certain markets there was a 5x112 17x7.5j ET45-ish steel wheel provided with the B6 S4... presumably a winter wheel for cold climates.

However, I can't find the damn things anywhere!

I'm thinking about some winter runners, or ghetto chic - can anyone find the part nos???
Sideways yo!

its defo available in Germany as i was in a Golf GTI that had steel winter wheels on back in Dec. Legal requirement and they make it as an option you have to select when ordering the car!

so you could always ask a dealer over there how much they'd be. Then bring them back after 'ring session.

Most VAG winter steelies are 16" Chungster,

Although I wonder if a MKV R32 has a listing, surely that'd need something 17" upwards to clear the brakes? Toureg too??

Tried searching for "stahl rad" on German google and ebay, nowt in 17", although they do make winter tyres that size... so something uses them!!

There's a place I know in Kempernich near the 'Ring that has a warehouse full of winter steels, think I may have to go hunting.
