Panasonic 42" TVs

I hope someone can explain the difference between all of these please and maybe suggest which to go for.

Same size... same make.. ~ 600 quid price differences.  :stupid:

I dont want freesat, just freeview of some type. I also dont really want 3D to be honest, just normal 2D tv will do me.

From what I gather, the NeoPlasma screens are the one to go for. The other codes relate to whether they have USB or internet connectivity (eg watch iPlayer on the TV), as well as the freeview/freesat stuff.

Thanks mate. I dont really need internet connectivity becuase it will be connected to a ps3 and a apple TV2 hopefully.  :smiley:

I've got the tx-p42 G30 NeoPlasma and I love it!
(gets great reviews too)

Looks like they are still doing them for £600 with the 5yr guarantee.

The department is called Tec7 and they are quite a few House of Fraser stores  :happy2:

I have the Panasonic Viera TX-P42G20 which is a slightly older version of what your looking at. The picture is stunning, the tv has been faultless for the 18 months or so that I've had it.

USB recording is a great facility, I can record in either Freeview HD or Freesat HD or normal SD quality on to a hard disk and the quality of the stuff when you watch is is as good as live. The only downside is that you have to watch the channel your recording  :stupid: or 'tape' two channels at once, because it doesn't have twin tuners :rolleye:

Nevertheless, with this model I can switch between the freeview & freesat facility and watch other stuff :wink:

I have a TX-46G15 and it's been awesome. Blinding with HD sources and very good on SD.

G30 S30... is the only different the HD recording?

What HD do you use with yours hedge? Is it a USB powered one, or does it have to have a 'powered' USB harddrive?

Mine doesn't do anything clever like that.

It has wired ethernet, SDHC support and is a DLNA compliant media server but I have a Vermin Media 1TB TiVo box to feed mine. In fact it's little more that a display as I have a Denon 3802 AV Receiver and some speakers for sound purposes.  :wink:

Rich I use a powered USB HD with my Panasonic Viera TX-P42G20, think you have to use a powered one for when you are recording something with the TV off (although it has to be in standby mode)

Recently bought the new panny vt30 and it's staggeringly good.

Last few tv's have been pannys and I swear by them.
