Just claim direct from his insurance company. That's what i did recently when a woman reversed into my car whilst it was parked up at my wife's work.

You just then have to inform your insurance as a matter of courtesy (and the small print) that you are claiming for damage from someone else's insurance.

If u protected u NCB then u will be fine and just need to pay ure excess
