Clutch issues
« on: February 06, 2012, 10:02:58 am »
Hi lads,

Looks like my clutch is on its way out. I was driving home the other day at about 50mph, put my foot down in 4th and the revs started climbing quickly. Its done this a couple more times since only in higher gears, i assume this is the clutch?  :fighting:

I have just got a quote back from one garage for £750 - £800!! Thats not even a dealership!! However this was for the clutch AND dmf, do i even need a new dmf?? How would i know if its needed? Does it have to be changed at the same time as the clutch?

Im assuming a standard OEM clutch should be good enough to run a GTI on Revo stage 1 and an ITG?

Any help ASAP would be hugely welcome  :happy2:

OEM clutch isn't up to the job at all mate :sad1:

If it's gone you need to be thinking about an upgraded performance clutch if you've remapped

Mines just gone also  Plenty of people on here had the same problem  :happy2:

Researching this myself i came across plenty of threads about lads going revo stage 1 and a week later the clutch giving up

IMO if you're doing it, might aswell do it properly  :happy2:

Just my opinion, your clutch obviously didn't stand up to the remap, so why put the same back in again
