Rear Wheel Arch Damage

Fuming, came outside to find this about an hour ago, I have always parked on the drive and my Dad recently sold his car so I've had it outside the house the past 3 days! I am going to work some G3 Compound into it over the week and try minimize it before it goes to a body shop so it doesn't look that bad when they quote me! What sort of cost would I be looking at? No dents luckily or creases! Sorry for the crappy photos!

Im not sure on repair cost but if you felt brave and looked at some diy's and youtube videos you could always sand down the arch so it is ready for the body shop to immediately prime and spray.. that would probably reduce your costs more as then they are quoting you for the paint.

No expert though and im sure someone will correct me.. but your idea of using some compound to mask the damage a little sounds good

As much as I would love to save the money I'm unsure if I would make it worse or not? Going to G3 compound it after work and give it a little bit of a wet and dry and see if I can at least minimize it!

I wouldn't bother running down as the body shop will still have to prep it.shouldnt be expensive to fix that.

I done something similar looking to that when I reversed out my garage and caught the wheel arch and bumper on the wall.  I took it to one of those smart vehicle repair places who done a very good job. I'll find the bill when I get home to see what it cost to repair

Nice one mate i appreciate it.

Someone on my Facebook suggested a College, so I went down and they quoted me £50 and said the car will be leaving in showroom condition if I book it in, if the learners don't do the best job the trained teachers do it, as if I am not happy they also do it and these have 10+ years experience? Opinions

Suppose you can't argue with that. I would have thought it would have been a little more than that at a body shop. I always thought to get a proper job with silver you had to paint the whole panel. Maybe wrong tho.

Here's what I managed to do to mine:



I caught the front wheel arch and bumper, (the arch and bumper were also scratched a bit out of shot). Thought it was worse than that thinking back but any scratch is a bad scratch I suppose!

The whole wing had to be sprayed to match the paint and the bumper sprayed round to the foglight somewhere. I couldn't see how far they went exactly but had a good idea by how much of it was clean! I haven't got an after photo but you wouldn't know its been repaired.  The place that did the repair is http://www.littleknocks.co.uk/

I had something else done at the same time so from the bill I would guess the price to repair this was around £180-200. Might of been able to get it cheaper but this place was recommended and had seen their previous work
