They never flashed my ECU when I had the recall but then Wakey VW are the worst dealers in existence.

Do I need my coil pack changed?

I bought my car a week ago from a non vw garage. Its a 2005 plate.

Am I able to just take it down to a VW place and they will change it for free?

Yes, I bought my 2005 last week privately. Took it to my local VW dealer, they checked on VW database, it has not been done.

Booked in for tomorrow, happy days!

Excellent I will take it in.

If my car has not been remapped does it matter if they update the ecu on mine?

All of my coipacks were replaced when it went in this week. Does run a bit soother i think, although seems a little harder to start. Coud just be down to the changeable weather we are having atm.

I also had all four of my coil packs changed on thursday as did my brother in his gti, seems to run a bit smoother but still struggles to start up sometimes in the cold weather
