Heres my scan and results.

Sorry I am really new to this and trying to teach myself but I don't want to be messing around with codes and possibly upsetting my car before I drive to briston on friday.

So forgetting about the electric windows (they work fine and so does my footwell lights so can't quite work it out?!)

Looks like you have a boost leak!
Also at some point the MAF has been disconnected.

I would start by looking at your Divertor Valve as thats the most common cause for this on TFSI's

I agree with Kalu, for the time and effort involved check the DV.

Ok, so far I have learnt the following:

000256 mass air flow sensor can simply be cleared as it was removed causing this fault.

Electric windows because I discounnected and changed my battery (same for radio) so just need to do the reset of all he way up all the way down, 2 secods, all the way up again and can clear codes,

ABS Brakes I am unsure about but may be from when I unplugged the MAF as it does turn traction control off and apparently the DTC memory - intermittent is more of clear job so will just clear that.

The footwell light is from the LED's im using but should not be a problem once cleared the codes although it may still through an error (not too bothered)

but the main one in like mentioned the boost pressure regulation as from what I've read leads me to think it is in fact a torn dv, I think I will stop at the garage tomurrow and ask him to take a look for me as he won't charge me anything to look and the weather isn't brilliant to be lying under a car.

The main question now is if I read the codes in the morning before work and then choose the clear codes function. Is it safe to clear the boost pressure regulation code or will it make it unsafe to drive. Also will it just through up again after driving and from what im looking at (and guessing) almost 30mph at 3718 rpm?

and how long will it take roughly so I know how much earlier to wake up before I go to work.

thanks in advanced!

To reset the windows you can also use the ignition key in the drivers door lock. Turn it fully to lock and count to 2, then turn it to unlock, hold it and all the windows will open. Again count to 2 then turn the other way, hold till all windows close and count to 2.

To clear codes?  No time at all.

To check DV?  30 mins For a first time.

lovely I think ill do that then, can I do it using the key (where you make the windows go down with unlock and up with lock when you hold the buttons down) because then I don't have to do it outside I can do it from my front room in the warm  :signLOL:

Lovely, Yeah I had a look the other day under the car anyway and could see it  the one question I have is it easier to get to the bolt at the top from above?

tool wise im sorted to do it just want to know if theres any experienced tips, for example someone told me to leave the bonnet open makes things easier to see even from under the engine.

Attack it from underneath. To be honest you may as well get a new DV and fit it as the revised models are more reliable.

Also dont forget to  check the pcv as that can bring on the P0299 fault code. I was plagued by this fault code a while ago and it turned out to be the stage 1 map. Since I had it updated the fault code has never appeared again.

Cheers, did my windows this morning before work but decided to wait until I get home tonight before cleaning them using vagcom and clearing all codes at the same time.

Also dont forget to  check the pcv as that can bring on the P0299 fault code. I was plagued by this fault code a while ago and it turned out to be the stage 1 map. Since I had it updated the fault code has never appeared again.

I did the check where you let the engine idle and it should go rough if the pcv is failing. Sound right? if not whats other ways to check? i think i read something somewhere that you need to remove the pcv valve and try and blow through it?

no map yet so can't be down to that.  :sad1:
