Iv finally got my hands on a GTI, i was meant to get one last year but stupidly bought an RX8 instead, worst decision ever, never seen a car so expensive to run!

Had the car 2 weeks and already sliding down then slipery slope of mods!

First up was red gti badges which i bought before i even got the car, shortly followed by red GTI mats, milltek non res ed30 catback, sounds amazing! While i was having that fitted i got AMD to put a map on, was well impressed with the results!

Also got my personalised pressed plates put on to hide how old it is :)
Anyway here it is

Quick picture of my old money pit!

Up next the car is booked in on the 27th to have the front and rear bumpers smoothed, side skirts painted and the roof re painted as the laquer has seen better days, was fairly annoyed about this as i didnt notice it when i bought it :(

Thanks, i did love the RX8, sound is so different to any other car and reving past 9k is insane and possibly the best handling car iv ever driven after the coilovers were fitted, Just fuel consumption was actually ridiculous!

iv decided to go down the smooth/flushed look, i know its not highly original but i think it just suits the mk5 so much!

To do this iv copied the bmw M-sport bumper, so im painting the centre part of the bumper grey like below

Then the rest of it is being fully smoothed like this

to carry to look on the side skirts are always being painted, and the front bumper is being fully smoothed also so the bump strips are being taken out along with the lower plastic splitter being smoothed in. Continuing the black and grey look the middle part of the grill is being done grey along with the lower blade and badge!

The gti is in my local bodyshop Spectraflare Sprayworks, hopes be back this weekend, i cant wait!

Below the car went in i tidied up my engine bay and made these stainless brackets for the hid balasts

Tts fantastic mate that's the route i was going before my car got crashed Into. Although the price for smoothing was dear I got quoted just for the front 450 that wasn't plastic welding. But the work is spot on there. Is yours fibreglass or Plastic weld to smooth.

Found a set of wheels too cheap to say no too so thought why not and bought them! this meant i had to buy coilovers aswell to pull the look off but hopefully all the expense and going skint was worth it :)

Porsche 997 turbo reps 19x8.5 with 215/35/19 tyres et45 plus 15mm adapters all round and fk coilovers about half way down
