either the guy is trying to pull a fast one or the guy bought it as an ED30 and he genuinely believes its an Ed30..

Just because it says ed30 on a poxy badge inside doesn't render it an ed30.
Ed30's come with half leather interior ,different front splitter which is colour coded, colour coded side skirts, and different bottom half rear bumper which is also colour coded, so unless some numpty has swapped all of that for standard gti trim and interior they want  So the answer to your question fella is no it deffo isn't an ed30

I knew that when I posted it, but thanks for the helpful info. Might be useful to someone (someone Welsh, perhaps, going by the location of the car)...
