Electronic Wing mirrors

Hello All
I'm a new  owner of a 2007 gti 5drs. I  noticed  when i  first  got my  car  when i shift the gears  to  reverse  the left  wing  mirror would  point  downwards and  assisting  with the  reversing  but suddenly this has  stopped  working. I was  wondering perhaps i changed  the settings  unknowingly. Is  there anyone that  can  assist  with this, it may  be  i am doing  something  wrong.

You have to have the  mirror adjustment dial in the "L" position.

have you made any changes to the long coding using VCDS lately?

You have to set the memory once at the 'L' position with reverse gear in simutanously.
So you've 'teached' the memory.

Then you should never set the left mirror when reverse gear in. Guess that's what you did.

Do all gti's have this feature? I have never noticed mine do it, never tried to be fair!

no only if you had the reversing mirror pack think it was the lux pack.

I have heated mirrors but the don't fold electronically do I have reverse mirror tilt? Thanks

No  not at  all would not  even know what  that  was....but  i  got  it  working, the  misus's hand bag swung against  it  this  morning and  guess what , started working again. I knew there  had  to  be  a reason  she  carried  a  very  huge  expensive designer sack everywhere
