Rear bumper
« on: February 29, 2012, 11:55:00 am »
I currently have a colour coded standard gti bumper;

Thinking of getting something new though as I'm a bit bored. My question, is the edition 30 bumper the same as the pirelli?

Any ideas on what the cost is to buy an ed30 rear bumper from a dealership? I'm in need! Also require the side skirts or r32 skirts, is there a difference in price?

Sorry to hijack the thread!

Don't think you will get a lot of change from 500 sheets for the rear valance and skirts!  :sick:

Yes, about £350 by the looks of it! :laugh:

Look at the pics and you'll see the difference (just make sure you don't fall off your chair):

That is ridiculous, the GTi rear valance is under 45 quid from TPS (I got one last year), iirc the ED30 is about 280 but I could be wrong.  :ashamed:

Yeah, I'm sure the stealers are cheaper than that. :surprised: My bf asked recently and it was around £220 + vat.

I think ur colour coded rear bumper looks really smart  :drool:. I've always thought i'd go straight to R32 rear from standard gti but now i'm not so sure. Where did you get it colour coded and how much did it cost you (if it's not impolite to ask ??)

If you end up swapping for R32 rear let me know and i'll buy your current colour coded one from you (unless i'm being abit naive thinking the colour match would be good for my reflex silver gti too??)

No I don't mind at all! It cost me £450 for the bumper, the front splitter (ed30) and the skirts which I don't think is too bad. A local body shop in saltaire did it for me, if you know the area then I'll let you know where. I want to go for either an ed30 rear or an r32 one. Trouble is with the r32 it's the cost of a new exhaust etc which I can't really afford at the mo! I'll let you know if I come to sell it, I don't think the colour match with your car will be great though.  :drinking:

I think ur probably a bit far away from me and as you say chances of a perfect match colour wise a bit slim/optimistic. Reckon i'm best to just go somewhere local to get work done

Remember you could stick with your current exhaust and get the alternative lower valance (with exhaust cut out on left side)on an R32 bumper. Then when u've got the money get R32 style exhaust and swap lower valance to standard R32 style

Job done and wallet lighter!!  :party:
