Div Valve Revision G
« on: March 05, 2012, 11:52:04 am »
Was I right to buy a revision G valve? bought one for £15.00 used but working/good condition. Or should I have gone for a revision D valve?

Revision D, although alphabetically before G, is actually the latest revision. As far as I know, rev.G is the older diaphragm-type.

That was a bit of a schoolboy error. As above, 'D' is the latest revision with a less-likely-to-fail piston type. 'G' is the older diaphragm type

I know about revision d as theres so much posted about revision d valves just not whether buying a g was a good idea or not and whether it was an older style piston or diaphragm. meh, it will do the job for now

I have seen a few people on here buying the G on purpose, as it was stronger than the older diaphragm ones, but tends to keep the dump noise a little more.

Having said that I have a D and prefer the knowledge that it is stronger :)

The D revison can leak due to the design. Ive got 2 G revisions... one on the car, and one in a box incase mine brakes (as yet its still fine on stage 1 revo)

I ran a factory fit G on my Ed30. On the Ed it's different to the GTI as the DV is infront of the engine and cool compared to the GTI's poor fecker that sits in the red hot turbo.
