cambelt change question

hi people im just after some advise on the cambelt change on my golf i have bought the vw workshop manual for the step by step guide but i cant see if i need a cam locking tool do i require 1?? because it dosent mention anything about 1.

if your changing the cambelt i would've thought you absolutely would have required a cambelt locking tool...

the vw workshop manual may not have explicitly mentioned 'cambelt locking tool' but will most likely have mentioned a VW specific tool which is in actual fact a vw locking tool

have a look over on www.tdiclub.com, or www.mkvgolf.com forums, plenty of the americans tend to do the cam belt jobs themselves and have posted very good diy's
