Hello, first time vw owner! very happy!

Hi guys,

i have been looking round on this site for months now but as i bought my Edition30 yesterday i thought i would join and introduce myself.

my name is Adam and this is my first vw (which i decided to buy after going to bugjam 2011). Its red 3 door. it has vw parking sensors and xenons.

i will post some pictures up when i get it cleaned.

The only problem i have with it is on my way home one of the bi-xenons decided to stop working, it does try and flicker when i turn it on, i am wondering if anybody could help me. there is a warning light on the dash like a small light bulb.

Probable bulb failure?, loads on here know which ones you need.. should be a relatively cheap fix.

I've just noticed from the pistonhead photos for some reason your rear inner light units aren't the tinted edition 30 spec ones, they are the standard gti ones. They should be the same shade (cherry red) as the outer units!

Welcome.  I'm a new member and recent purchaser of a red ED30 myself.

Do you not have a badge behind the gear stick telling you what number it is?  Mine has one.

i didnt notice the lights but after my headlight this shall be the first job. and no it doesnt have a plaque i thought you had to apply for them from VW. i had a friend which had one and he had to go to vw for the plaque. :)

............VW will only issue a plaque to the first owner so if they have kept it it's tuff s**t as they won't send another(i've tried).

i will try as it has only had one owner from new bar me so hope for the best. if i wanted to get the rear lights where is the best place to get them, as i only need the ones on the boot lid. i would prefer genuine VW. :)

just found some lights 45 a pop. genuine vw parts too. good old ebay!
