Do these R32 Tail lights look Kosher...
« on: March 12, 2012, 08:36:45 pm »
Evening all,

I recently ordered a set of R32 tails on the tinternet and they arrived today. Sold as genuine R32 units made by Hella...

Strange thing is there is no Hella logo and the part number on the box (Hella) is not tha same as marked on the lights...

I queried with the seller who said that "Unfortunately I cannot comment on the fact that those lights do not have any Hella markings or that the part numbers do not match.  I can only suspect that like with most of Hella products, they are being manufactured by a third party company and Hella is just selling them under own name"

Smells a bit funny as my experience Hella parts has their own number marked on the product...

The logo looks like Automotive Lightings logo http://www.al-lighting.de/index.php?id=1024&lang=en

What do you reckon??

TIA

Regards

Dave

If they are kosher then I would say that I was a little dissapointed in the quality. Not in line with other 'Hella' products I have had. And re price, it was a good but for 20 quid more I can get a set from a main stealer (18% discount). I know... I should have just bought the stealer ones  :ashamed:

I havent fitted them yet...

I checked with Hella and they say they are Kosher.

"Automotive lighting and Hella have both made OE rear lights for the mk5 Golfs. We have brought these units in from Automotive lighting and reboxed them into Hella boxes as we now have these in our design range. As I said before both Hella and Automotive lights are OE manufactures of mk5 Golf lights."

Still a but meh on the quality... But they are going on

if youre happy with the quality in general then bite the bullet as you'll more than likely be the only one who notices that they arent stealer bought i would guess

Fitted them on the weekend, funnily enough the orginal bootlid lights were AL and the body lights were Valeo.

I am quite chuffed with the result

Now they're fitted you'd never know they were Hella ones.

Look a million times better than the standard ones  :happy2:
