Flat battery on my mk4 golf
« on: March 23, 2012, 07:49:37 pm »
The battery on my mk 4 golf is flat and I can't get into it as I can't get it unlocked. It got broken into ages ago and I just blanked the lock on the drivers door and the boot lock has seized so can't get into it that way.

Has anybody got any idea how the bonnet can be pulled From outside the car??

The car is 200 miles away at my mums and apparently the bonnet release wasn't releasing the bonnet when pulled from inside, so need to somehow release the bonnet from outside??

Any help much appreciated

I get what your saying but the car is 200 miles away at my mums and the RAC will want to see id as they did before when I called them out. I need to get into it as my mums next door neighbour was going to charge the battery for me and take it for a spin.

Am only asking how to get the bonnet open, not break into the car

i do sympathise mate, still not going to tell you though. I can get into the car for you if i were close to you, i use to sell delock kits for a reason for the MK4

if your folks are a member of the AA or their neighbour is then theyre the member not the car, they can still call them out for assistance  :happy2:

i would never tell anyone how to even open the bonnet of a locked car unless i knew them personally mate sorry  :happy2:

You sold the delock kits coz the mk4 security is crap as I know only too well after it getting broken into, hence why I delocked the car. My mum doesnt drive so not in AA/RAC, feel as though it would be rude to ask the neighbour to call them if he is a member, as I get a discount if I don't call them out, so can't expect him to give that up.

Thanks anyway

...and for what its worth, the delock is only a deterrent if you fitted it yourself you'll also have seen how to get around it
