Newbie to the scene!
« on: March 29, 2012, 03:34:57 pm »
Afternoon Ladies and Gents,

I'm Chris and am expecting to pick up my GTI this weekend, if not early next week  :drinking:

It's an '07 plate 3 door Mk5 in Black, Black Leather and the DSG box so is the right spec for me at the moment.  On 37,000miles and getting it's 40k service before I pick it up.

I'm coming from a Subaru background (don't hate me.....   :surprised:) having owned a 22B, P1, '53 STI and Catalunya - the Catalunya is now caged and my track car, the 22B was sold, the '53 STI is being traded in against the Golf and the P1 has been in the family from new so will be my garage queen.....lol.

Looking forward to getting to know the GTI a bit better though and getting involved in the forum  :happy2:

I will get some pictures up once it has been collected and given a "proper" wash and treatment to my exact standards ofcourse but in the meantime- it's nice to meet you all and if there is anything I should be looking out for or checking out during my 6 month warranty period then all suggestions welcome

Cheers,
Chris

where abouts you based? The most you should be checking is your Diverter valve and PVC valve as there the most common to go on our cars!

Thanks guys- looks a great forum  :jumpmove:

I will post some pictures up of the other cars when I can find them  :happy2:

This is the 22B when I put it in for a detail (bit of a bonus treat!)

Been reading the rusting thread- will definately be high on my list to check out!  I did notice the rear VW badge had some rust specs on the metallic parts....was thinking it would just polish off...??
