I don't understand why he always seems to be chasing bigger and bigger BHP figures. Does it make a car faster? Yes. Does it make it better to drive? I'd probably say the opposite. It makes me think he doesn't really understand what a good car is...

All this talk of 650 BHP 911s and 1000+ BHP GTRs, well it's all a bit boring if you ask me.

....I've never met the guy but I'm thinking he may be a bit young and feels he needs to seek attention. Is he too embarassed to continue posting here?

As you suggest, Andrew, the key to successful modding is to know the limits and work within them leaving some headroom tolerance. Even full-on race cars need some headroom if the race is long, and fast road use is never a short journey.

He made a mess of his car ie blew the gearbox up so has not posted on the site since he did that

What mods did he do to blow up his gerabox and engine???
Doesn't he just have a Audi TTRS at stage 2?
2010 3dr phantom black S-Tronic S3 - BCS TBE with 3½" DP - LOBA LO4xx turbo - LOBA HPFP - Revo CAI - H&R 25mm lowering springs - Forge 11mm spacers - RS4 fuel Pressure valve - THS intercooler - H&R front and rear ARB's - AEM water methanol injection

Clarkson wrote about this once - he said the absolute limit for a road car is about 600bhp. Beyond that you need to be spending serious development money getting the car right (i.e. Bugatti Veyron). This was one of the reasons he didn't like the GTO. Clarkson may be a prat but I can see where he's coming from.

So if Ferrari can't make a good road car with 600bhp+ I doubt a man in a tuning shop can make a good 600bhp+ road car out of a car that was designed to make half of that. That's why I think modding should be a restrained exercise, not "more is better".

Should have got DSG. Sorry, couldn't resist! I do wish him well tho and hope it gets sorted.

I think Jonny C's car had to have a new box at some stage too.

I think if I had spunked a ton of money on a TTRS and a bunch on mods... And then blown the engine and gearbox up, I think I would be crying into my foie gras and swan salad!

I thought going into 1st instead of 3rd at full pelt would be ok  They do it no problem on The Fast and The Furious. Maybe he should have bought Japanese

Seriously though for what it will cost to fix he may as well buy a new car. Shame that Awesome don't still have that RS3 engine. Would have saved him a whole heap of work.
