Carpet mats attention
« on: April 21, 2012, 03:18:21 pm »
Has anyone cleaned their GTI carpet mats with liquid?

I bought a carpet tool for rotary but wonder exactly how much liquid or rather APC I can use on them. I don't want the back of the mat getting sodden. Do you just spritz a bit of APC and work it or do you need to nearly dampen the mat?

Any expertise appreciated as my driver's mat is very grubby and needs revived.

Thanks

Just give it a good spray all over concentrating on the heel area for the drivers mat. You'd have to be spraying for a while to get it to soak through.

Once you've finished scrubbing go over it with one of the crevis tools on the vac, this will help remove a lot of the moisture!  :happy2:

Cheers for your help and advice.

Do you use a rotary carpet tool or a wet vac on mats?

Depends how bad they are, but 99% of the time I use either APC or Valet Pro and a stiff brush, then the vac!  :happy2:
