Style Dynamics - Custom Exhausts
« on: April 27, 2012, 11:51:37 am »
Has anyone used or heard of these people.

The custom build each exhaust to your car to whatever spec you want, quiet, loud, custom tips etc.

Booked in Saturday for a exhaust check and see what they can offer.

Health check is free and then for a cat back is £350 all in, customised to how you want. Downpipe is custom so will quote me tomorrow.

I would ask the following to any 'custom' exhaust supplier:

Are the pipes mandrel bent or crush bent?
Are the welds Tig or Mig welded?
Are the bores of the silencers matched to the pipework?

(you want a mandrel bent tig welded system with matched bore size   )

Well spent an hour with them discussing options, what I wanted sound wise etc, OEM looking tips or something different. Flanged Decat options as well so cutting the cat out and building a straight pipe which can be easily swapped out. Really friendly and the merc they were finishing sounded and look very good.

Quote for half system (not standard cat back) as they said they'd want to have a box along the straight pipe, then box replacing existing box, then pipes all the way to the back without the suitcase. Keep the pipe work the same bore all the way along (2.5 - 2.75), slanted tips 3 inch non rolled to appear slightly bigger but still OEM looking - ish. £399

Reason for going past the standard cat back was in prep for a decat/sports cat option.

So now just to have a think

I know.......think I'm going the tried and trusted route anyway. Went off on my own with my remap and went to an indie...even though it's brilliant think I'm not that lucky to find another gem
