New Pirelli owner!
« on: May 08, 2012, 10:15:29 am »
Hi everyone,

New member and new Pirelli edition owner here.  Been lurking on here for a while getting some good tips and info before I bought my MK5....great forum guys and girls! Had my black 58 reg Pirelli for just over a month, moving from an 05 reg BMW M3 that I've owned for the last 4 years......the Golf's saving me a bucketload in running costs and is easily just as fun, although I still have the M at the moment I find I'm driving the golf more......
The Pirelli is a manual with RNS510 and 21,000 miles on the clock. So far I've added GTI seat handle logo thingys and a GTI footrest.....with plans to go stage 2 mods wise (once I sell the BMW)
This is my second VW, I had a fantastic Corrado VR6 about 12 years ago which I foolishly replaced with a Civic Type-R in 2002.  It was blackberry metallic with cream leather....wish I still had her now as a 2nd car!
I will post some pics as soon as I get a chance to clean her.
Thanks for all the great info so far!

George

Welcome to the forum. What mpg were you getting from the m3 then ? My Ed30 doesn't do many mpg....perhaps 24 , but then i don't go far.

Hi
I do 50 motorway miles a day, the M3 showed 28mpg on the trip.....23mpg from my calculations.....currently getting around 38 in the golf on the same journey. Around town I'd be lucky to get 12-14 in the BMW. Plus the insurance is half the price.....but the biggest expense on an M3 is tyres.....set of rears last me about 5-6 months at £500 roughly a pair!

Welcome Mr Exclusive! I'll probably never see a Pirelli in real life...get pics up! Do you like the seats or not? Be honest!

Sweet vehicle - I'm jealous, although I'd say you paid a few pence for it!

All the best with it and look after that baby! :popcornsoda:

Hi, I love the seats! I don't like the cheap tyres the garage out on before selling it.....real ditch finders! Pirelli's going on in July after holiday  I'll get some pics up on Sunday! I actually paid a reasonable price for a Pirelli hence why I snapped It up before selling my M3!

I suppose it would be perverse to put Michelin or Bridgestone on a Pirelli!

Tough choice: Pirelli zero nero? or Accelera Alpha...?
