9.5J on the rears?
« on: May 14, 2012, 06:39:55 pm »
Hi all,

Considering refurbing the Mams I have and running them on my MK5.

Specs are 8.5 on the fronts ET45, 9.5 on the rears, ET 35, PCD 5x112. Current tyres on them are 235/35/19.

Would the wheels fit ok on the current tyres, or would I need to change them? I have 225/35/19s on my lm reps which I could swap over.

And would the rears poke?

Thanks,

Sharif

Sharif,

You would be ok up front slammed or not with ET45, rears : depending how low you wanted to go the rears will rub unless you  add the following,

option 1 dial in some camber
option 2 run 225's at the back for some added stretch.

Or both of the above will work really well.

Here is mine with 19x8.5 19x9.5 ET35 all round 215/35/19 up front 235/35/19 rears, did rub at the back causing some damage on the arches as well but I was not running any camber at the time.

fronts you'll be fine with

rears you'll struggle with without camber and things

you'll need thinner tyres
