Stage 1 CEL flashing

Hello!

I have only had my car a few days and am new to the forum and thought you guys might be able to help.

My car has a Revo Stage 1 map according to the docs that came with the car and a Select Plus box with the following settings 7 / 9 / 6.

I have noted that under full load it occasionally hesitates and the CEL lamp flashes for approx 10 seconds. Presumably this means that the ECU is limitng the power and the map is set a bit too high?

Any ideas what I should look at reducing??

Unfortunatly I dont have a VAGCOM but i would have presumed that this would have been verified by the place that did the remap originally?


P.S. the car has a catback Miltek fitted and a Dbilas flowmaster intake (that sounds a bit like an accordion)


Any ideas?

Just to be clear and before commenting, are you saying that your present settings are Boost 7 Timing 9 and Fuel 6?
Without traction power is nothing!

Yep. According to paperwork i have the settings are...
Boost: 7
Fuel: 9
Timing: 6

(the car is always run using Shell V Power)

without vag com who knows what errors its throwing up.

see if anyone is local to you on the vcds members list.

Cheers for the advice guys.

A little bit more confused after pluging it into my PC and according to the software it is set to the following settings as the default setting...

Boost 6
Timing 2
Fuel 9

Which doesnt match what is writen on all the documents.  Might try to give the previous owner a call and ask if in the 3 years he had the car ever noticed this issue. Might it be a result of the recent hot weather?

Yeah timing 6 on Stage 1 sounds mighty high...

I'd drop the setting back to Boost=6 Timing=4 Fuel=9 to start with and go from there...

My car stage 1 was running B7 T5 F9...

Ignore me, seen the timing setting is already dropped back... what car? GTi? Edition 30?

Then vag-com is your only answer, get it scanned and go from there...

CEL light flashing = Missfire

When were you spark plugs changed?

As rich said, its likely a missfire caused by plugs or coilpacks, or both.
