High idle when warm
« on: May 30, 2012, 05:23:56 pm »
Hi all, I'm new to this forum and I have a slightly ropy 2005 GTi!

I've had to replace a leaky radiator, the suspension is knocking and the wing has rusted through but one of the main issues it has is the high idle when warm - it can be anywhere between 1200 - 2000 rpm and it usually dies down to 1200 with a quick jab of the acellerator.  When cold it is fine so I assume it's either a boost leak or a sensor, has anyone experienced something similar or provide some advice on what to look for please.

Also, i'm not too sure if its my imagination or not but it sometimes feels a little flat higher up the rev range.  Car is totally standard.
