I have found myself a fresh golf r engine with 4000 miles on it, its the CDL code and wondering what is the exact difference with this compared to the S3 engine? Would this engine be reliable?
Lastly I have a AXX code engine on ATM and going to swap over with it, I have already asked this but want to know is this a straight plug and play to my car inc DSG gearbox and keeping the map sensor from the R on?
I want confirmation before I pull out £1k+!

Can someone also please confirm here if I can use the golf R map sensor on my stock ECU? Also after the engine swap the ecu must be mapped ASAP aswell?

Just use your original map sensor and original ecu and get the correct remap for the k04.

But is it possible to use my current ECU with the golf R map sensor to get more power out of it?

....Crikey Sammy - Just get a new engine hooked up and working properly first. Get more power out of it (IF you really need it) later.

As you have been told before, You CANNOT use the 3 BAR MAP sensor from a Cupra, S3, ED30, Golf R,Scirocco R on an AXX 200bhp ECU, so again the answer is no.
This doesn't prohibit you from big numbers, it's just a detail to be aware of, listen and learn

I have the AXX 2,55 BAR and BWJ (Cupra ) setup:

Am doing a whole engine swap what makes you think I won't go after more power then? With that I want to get the max I can and still have the reliability my old AXX didn't with k04!

Seriously does you Mum know you have gone and bought a car.  :chicken: I have been reading all these daft threads for weeks now and it has got to the point were i cringe with every new post.

Stop what you are doing

Put the keyboard and engine parts down in front of you and take 3 or 4 paces back. Have you not noticed in your life that things seem to go wrong (quite often ).
Your problem is not with the engine or the turbo, it is you who needs fixing. You just ploughed into engine and turbo upgrades with zero knowledge and no research whatsoever. You need to stop asking questions and actually read up on what you are trying to do so it can be planned properly. Your just fumbling around trying fix things you don't even know are broken, and convince yourself it will be alright because you think you can sell bits on again.
here is a little analogy of you so far.

Hey guys bought a pair of shorts but you lot all seem to wear trousers. Can i just attach the bottom part so mine are the same as yours.

Yes you can, but first have a read up on the best way to do this, take em off and get someone who knows how to attach the new bits.

OK guys i think its gone wrong. I bought some second hand material off the INTERNET ( the guy said it was perfect ) stitched them on but they seem to be stuck together at the bottom and i cant walk. If i cut them off can i use them again or should i buy a skirt.

Take things back to as they were before you messed around and take them to a seamstress who knows what and how to attach them.

OK guys bought a new set of shorts and material gonna try again if my legs don't come out of the bottom when i try them on does this mean they are broken or is it just the zipper jammed.
Right forget the shorts i am going to just buy some trousers. Does anyone know if i should by slacks, flares or just jeans.  :stupid:

I am sorry if this sounds harsh but you really do need to get a grip of how you process information.  Every choice you make seems to be completely wrong.  :happy2:

True dat

Personally, I'd go back to KO3 as it was back in the day you had a working car. See where you stand. This is an excellent starting point.

If your going to go your own way PLEASE at least goto a well know specialist (yes i hate their prices too) and ask,

A. Can you do a full engine upgrade/swap where i just pay you but have no input into the buying of any parts?

B. How much?

C. How long?

D. Would you do it? I only say this because you only have 2 small front wheels for all this power to use, without spending yet more on a DSG LSD you wasting all that money/power/time.

YOLO!
Am just going to enjoy this new upgrade to myself and max it out how ever I can push it to the limits, yeah it's a FWD so I have 4 wheel drive conversion in my head later so noo problem jaaast enjoy the damn car!  :driver: :drinking: :P
