Edition 30 alloys.

..............fitted to a standard GTI,would the insurance company class this as modified ?.Thanks in advance.

just tell them u have put some genuine vw wheels on your car,dont think they will charge anything for it as its just a change in wheel

Depends who your with mate, some will and maybe charge extra some might but not add any extra, best off giving them a quick call and saying your thinking of putting them on would it affect my policy,

Esure at the moment mate.Pick the car up next saturday & was toying with the idea of some BBS ch replica (which i know will have to be declared ) but just wondered if standard alloys would be ok ?.

Yes. As I found out a few weeks back. Bought Monza IIs off a certain rim king, and they're a straight swap.

RE: insurance - if it's different from factory-fit, it's modified, and therefore they need to be aware of it. You could buy a second-hand car from a dealer with some goodies. If the dealer fitted those goodies, it's been modified - even if you thought it was standard or "the way the car came when I bought it".

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

Thanks Stealth. I've been offered a set of ''30'' alloys & i think i will have them as i'm picking my golf up next saturday & it only has the standard 17'' monza alloys on.
