i thought then when out on the open road, yes will be more responsive without, but if you are sat in traffic will help keep heatsoak to a mimimum with it fitted so depends whether you get caught in rush hour traffic much i have mine fitted at mo but may take off.
itg are the masters though, they have made it part of the kit for a reason. what about that foam bit that goes across the battery? what is that meant to do? just stop dirt landing on the filter?
, this sounds like an old wives fish tale!!!Surely ITG would know whether that foam should be there or not????Mine is purely foam, but I have seen some with a metal of some sorts stuck on the foam????

Justin were talking about the metal heatsheild that has foam on the back of it, it will be just behind the itg filter cone, don't go ripping the filter apart And yes itg have put it there for a reason so I'm not sure why it's better, I'll call itg Tomoz and ask the question, could just be a part in development that they put there and they haven't tried it without? I'll ask them
