Power variation...
« on: June 09, 2012, 11:29:43 pm »
In my mk5 gti (stage 1 remapped rtech) it sometimes feel the car is faster than normal...

I thought this might be weather related but over the past few days temps have been a consistent 15-16 degrees and on the same stretch of road there is a noticeable change in the pushed into the seat feeling (bum dyno) on a day-to-day basis.

In all situations I bury the throttle into the floor and the TC has not been flashing up on the dash (hence I'm ruling out driver input!!!).

Could this be pointing to a DV issue? When I had my remap the DV was fine so not changed...

Just thought I'd check...might be a stupid assessment and I might need a virtual beating  :signLOL:

Hope that makes sense !

Mine does this too(also Stg1 R-Tech)

I think its down to heatsoak on the intercooler / intake. Larger intercooler will help maintain full power despite the weather / driving conditions  :happy2:

Mine hasn't felt particularly quick in the day today yet tonight (lovely cool air) its felt RAPID  :driver:

Mine has done this for the last 7 years, no matter what state of tune, regardless of software running either  :happy2: think it's just part of the fun of running a VAG car. Keeps you on your toes so to speak
