CCTV to watch the car

My car parks on the drive and would like a CCTV camera to watch over it when im not around.

I would like one that didnt need a power supply and I could attach to my tv and/or pc or macbook pro, wireless is a good option but then would need a power supply!

Can anyone recommend any good ones? Would prefer one that wasnt overly obvious as the old man has the idea that having a CCTV camera tells people you have something worth stealing and doesnt want it obvious on the house or garage!

??? If you want a camera then you need power, they dont run off magic!  

Battery ones are pants.

Basically if you get yourself a decent camera, you will be annoyed if you dont spend your budget on this.

You then need to either plug it in, or you can get cable that sends both power and video to the camera. So at one end it plugs into your camera, the other end video into your DVR and power into a distribution box.

So my mate used to run a CCTV company and he swears by cops cctv equipment:

SWANN cameras are good, use them over the shop and watch whilst im at home or on my phone :) you get a 500gb hard drive also.

Check out T3.com for reviews mate. Seen a few articles in their magazines over the last few months about CCTV that can be monitored/controlled by smart phones or over the net/thru laptops.

CCTV is fine but a hoody covers a thiefs identity very easily as does any bag/hat/balaclava. Will make you feel safer i suppose . whats is the purpose of your CCTV requirment ?

Its more so I can record if anything happens and/or check up on it when im not home, i know its not going to stop anything happening :(

One of my mate's (Rick), just put up 4 CCTV cameras outside his house on all 4 corners midway up 1st floor so they cannot be tampered with unless they get a ladder  , he has 2 nice cars on his drive and 3 kids who play outside, he likes to know they are all safe and he LOVES his gagdets  , they are all wired into his "Man Cave" and can be diplayed on a 42" LCD TV and his HD is big enough for all 4 cameras to record 24hrs a day for 4 weeks straight. 

Thinks he decided to do it all when word got round of a Paedo in the local area

Look for a Synology NAS (a small 2 bay would be fine).
The NAS has application for security cameras built into it.
I was looking to get a Couple of Y-Cam Knight S cameras - footage looks pretty good, and has built in LEDs for recording in pitch black pretty well. Cameras themselves are pretty well priced and the NAS will record using motion detection.
The amount of footage recorded depends on how much space you have on your hard disks in the NAS. Bearing in mind the cameras record motion, you will store loads even 1TB!

Mate of mine had a cheap syp camera at the end of his drive. Managed to catch a youth smashing his car windows (drunk git), and the police made him pay for a replacement.
