Rain drips
« on: June 20, 2012, 11:01:51 pm »
I have seen the plastic things which you can stick on above the window to stop water dripping into the car while driving, but I don't like the look of them.

Is the anything a little less 'in your face' hat can be done to stop the annoying drip?

It amazes me that the Golf passed the design test with this issue, did they not test the car in the rain with the window open slightly?, its like a bloody waterfall sometimes!  I've taken to putting a small towel over the door handle when its wet to catch the drips, as I always like the window open about an inch whatever the weather.

Aye, especially after you've polished it.

Climair do the job and do it well. I know your after something else and I was the same as you until I got them and am now a convert. They really do work and have had a few peeps even pass favourable comments so can't be bad.

After a while you forget they are on the car. Mine below!  :happy2:

The solution is ClimAir. I normally would hate this kind of aftermarket addition but they are faultless and even look as if they could be OEM:

Not only do they stop the rain drips but they provide excellent fresh air ventilation and kill the cabin pressure 'helicopter' noise you get from an open sunshine roof at speed. Very well made too.

10/10 from me  :happy2:

....I've heard of this problem existing (on this forum in the ClimAir Group Buy thread) but I don't have that problem. It sounds like they haven't been properly installed and allowed to cure for 12 hrs as the fitting instructions.

No mate, mine are fine (5dr) Moredoor although im not that keen on the rears as they look like they stick out too far, was thinking about seeing if trimming the edges will allow them to sit better, fronts are absolutely magic, no issues!

I agree, they do look a bit too bowed on the rears in particular. But then, nothing fits that perfectly on a car unless the car costs 6-figures, and the ClimAir's work really well and that's what matters.

Ive just bought a full set of Team Heko :happy2: wind deflectors.
I missed out on the group buy on here and found the Heko ones for £35 for a full set.
They do keep the water out, but Its going to take a little time before I get used to the look
of them
Not sure about them keeping the rain out just yet
