Clicking noise at 1-2k revs
« on: July 01, 2012, 08:34:31 pm »
Hi guys, I noticed yesterday that when I press my accelerator between 1-2k revs sometimes there is a clicking noise... It's not there when the engines off, soo my question is does anyone know what this is? And if so any possible fix?

Cheers in advance :D

It's just one click/tick when I sometimes press the accelerator pedal... It's definitely coming from outside underneath where the pedal is, not 100% where exactly though

Mines currently clicking on the offside of the engine mainly from cold, found it to be the aux belt tensioner does it under 2k revs aswell. Worth a check  :happy2:

I think I know what it is mate, I had similar clicking sound before and it was even louder because I had the forge spacer fitted on, once I changed my diverter no more clicking sounds even with spacer on, I had a D before btw and bought a brand new diverter D and seems to have gone now, what diverter are you running?

Well it still clicks even if the engine is warm, so might not be that one.

Not a clue mate, where abouts is it located so I can try check it out?

Cheers

If you have a standard gti then your diverter will be on the turbo underneath the car on the downpipe, if you have edition 30 then it will be near the front side of your engine

Just pull out the diverter and get the part number first
