They are similar up the ones you can get on the Octavia Scout. They are about £160 a unit iirc

Part numbers are 5j0941067 5j0941968, about 38 quid a side from tps...

There's a bunch of guys on the German passat scene and Audi scene that have removed the led part out of these and fitted them into the fog housing of the passat and A4, looks pretty oem. Wirings a bit of a pain though. I'm working on this right as we speak, my replacement fogs arrived this morning and I'll be buying the skoda drls from tps after ramadan when I'll have a bit more time to play about...

Will be taking pics etc when I do  :happy2:

Must be getting them mixed up with the vRS ones.

Do they include the led bulbs etc?

its the same part and yes as far as i can tell from forum posts etc they are complete units.

they also come apart so the internals can be put in the golf fog housings..

the pin allocation..

Pin 1: DRL (all 4 @ 100%, I=380 mA)
Pin 2: Massa
Pin 3: PO (Positionlight) all 4 LED`s dimmed, I=55 mA

think i might get these and have a play. :)

I'll probably turn fogs off completely with VCDS and then wire these myself. hopefully its as easy as ignition live / earth / and a feed from the lights so it knows when to dim?

I'll be doing the same...lol.

But I'm adamant to do it properly so will be spending time figuring out the CECM pinouts for the DRLS to get the dimming function working properly  :happy2:

I'm quite sure that there ought to be a dimming pin available somewhere in the CECM...I'm not 100% sure but chances are there is, if not then will just ground pin 2 and wire it up as a fog light - setup fogs as drls, make up and adapter to go from h11 to the new 3pin and plug and play! That way will also be able to retain the cornering light function too....

Yup, got cornering lights enabled along with fogs as drls at the moment...but not bright enough and these look like a good challenge...lol.

Bear in mind I've got a 30byte CECM though, don't think all the CECMs can do the cornering lights... I scavenged my CECM from an Octavia and coded it in myself, most trickiest bit was figuring out how to disable the second reverse light!

Will update with some pics but won't be for a while mind...

Ah. yeah i have stock CECM.

I think my plan to wire them up separately is my best bet. hopefully the light units work out the dimming themselves?? (long shot lol)

If only it were that simple!

They use what appears to be the same 3 wire system as the audis... So you can either use a control box (like the chap did over on r32oc where he installed the a6 drls on his r32) or u just leave pin 2 empty

From what I've read and my understanding, pin 2 is the 'dim' function at 15% output, which is usually activated by the CECM... Which is why it would be nice to get the CECM to do the work. But if this can't be done, then either leaving it untouched could work...or...if memory serves me correct I think the correct solution to avoid MFA errors if using them as fogs was to actually wire pin 2 to ground, ain't got a clue what this does internally - assuming it tells the light unit that there is no longer a 'dim' function available and to work at full brightness?...
