The Airtec TWIN SPEC seems a very good option as it saves a significant amount on labour costs compared to the Airtec INTERCOOLER.

forge twintercooler ripoff

Because anyone that makes a intercooler that works along side the OEM intercooler is ripping of an item forge make?  :rolleye:

These items are bar and plate intercoolers and are make to a high standard if the reviews are anything to go by. I have one waiting for me so will post up pictures when i go get it.

What is the best one to fit the twin with standard intercooler or replacing the standard one with the one in the first post?

And had anyone successfully fitted the twin model to a mk5?

I assume the twin would be much easier for fitting

according to their website and their tests the front mount one will be better.

The front will be easier fitting.

I believe a few people on here have one fitted, i have one waiting for me at my friends garage, i wont be processing the group buy until i have seen and fitted mine (dont want to push these then find out they dont fit!) I have the S3 cooler too so will be interesting to see if they work along side that cooler.

....I think I'm right in saying that the term 'FMIC' normally means Front Mounted Intercooler and a front mounted is fitted right up front like a Forge Twintercooler and not like the larger OEM intercooler.

So, are either of Airtec's intercoolers including in this Group Buy or just the one which replaces the OEM?

A front mounted i/c will be significantly cheaper on labour costs and as the Airtec TWIN SPEC (as Airtec call it) is cheaper than the Forge Twintercooler, is it as good or is it better value?

So, will adding a TWIN SPEC to run with an OEM i/c deliver better performance than just replacing the OEM with Airtec's INTERCOOLER? Because if so isn't it a bit of a no-brainer because it's also a cheaper option?

....At the risk of sounding pedantic I think you mean it's a direct equivalent and a competitor of the Forge Twintercooler. But I understood that you didn't mean rip-off in your first post.  :happy2:

I need the big fmic anyway as the plastic end caps on the .:R Probably won't hold up under the higher pressures I'll be wanting.

Hmm, would they do both I wonder?

....Rather than be bothered about the brand/badge, isn't it more important to learn which delivers the best performance or whether there are any differences in build quality or design?

I will ask the question for you, if they have the correct hoses for both to be fitted at once.
