Seriously did it only make this noise after the rack was fitted ?
I still think its the Downpipe after they forgot to bolt the dog bone up ( or a mouse that's shacked up with ya )  :signLOL:

I had the same problem too.

I had a constant misfire on idle. It was like this for a few weeks and it started to get worse. Got in it one day and put my foot down and the engine light came on and was flashing. Drove it to garage and they I had a misfire on cylinder 3. had loads of problems trying to sort it as there were so many reasons it could have been doing it. Had the MAF changed and that didn't help.

Few guys on here said it could be a bad injector. Had it changed and was absolutely perfect for about 3 days. Misfire is back again... not as bad this time but when I put my foot down, it is absolutely perfect. It's just on idle now and its so frustrating as it feels like the car is slightly rocking and the motion of it actually makes me feel sick sometimes lol

I'm thinking of just booking my car in with Alex from AKS tuning to try sort this out once and for all. Cos its doing my head in now.

Hope you get yours sorted.

Alex logged the missfires on my car, it would constantly do it on idle but not at any other time.

It doesn't bother me

Well I have the tfsi in my A4 b8 and I have just spent. Small fortune trying to sort out an intermittent idle judder. Did the decoke, full service, full diagnostics. Everything. No fault codes, no recorded misfires.
So the shop got a very complex vibration meter in it. Turns out that its the standard mapped idle fuelling strategy for this engine.  Some do it more than other. Mine judders the seat and has had me pi**ed of now for over a year. Si I decided to tackle it or ell the darn thing.
So, that's what it is. To prove the theory we then hooked up a mk5 gti to the same vibration meter. On the graph the exact same trace came up. And it could be felt in the cabin too, although less intense presumably cos its transverse.
Anyway, thats it. So until VWAG come up with a patch you re probably stuck with it. Or sell it............

Could it be the low fuel pressure pump in the fuel tank?
