Problems after fitting intake
« on: August 13, 2012, 09:25:08 pm »
I fitted a pipercross filter to the join on the end of the air box and removed the standard filter.  Although when I go WOT there is a bit of an improvement in pick up and noise, when I am cruising at any constant speed the car seems to hesitate ( as if it was misfiring) I changed my plugs last week and it had the coil pack recall last year.
Has anyone got any suggestions as to why I am getting this issue please?
Thanks

The sides of panel air filter seals the enclosure so simply removing it means you have an air leak. Don't know if this has a bearing on your issue as the leak is before the maf.

You should have a seal to fit around where the oe panel filter goes to stop air leaking. If not you can use the oe filter and cut out the paper filter leaving the seal and use that.
