I thought gold was supposed to be the best hence its use in electronics?

Silver has the highest conductivity, however, whilst gold isnt quite as good, its often preferred for its resistance to corrosion.

Silver is known to erode pretty fast from what i gather.

I refer to part of the original quote from Nology's website...... :happy2:

"Nology Silver spark plugs are especially designed for high-performance engines. Silver is the best electrical and thermal conductor of any metal, which makes it the ultimate material for a spark plug's center electrode. The large diameter silver center electrode increases spark carrying ability and spark power. Silver is extremely resistant to erosion, guaranteeing a virtually unchanged electrode gap for the life of the spark plug. Most Nology Silver spark plugs are without a resistor, perfect for performance enthusiasts who demand the most from their engines. For racing or dependability and efficiency for everyday use, Nology Silver spark plugs deliver the most powerful spark."

Ahh the company sales pitch, it must be true then ...., its like the OKADA coil packs websites "power gains" claim.  Great on paper for the sales pitch, but ultimately not delivering what it says on the tin.   With the corrosion Im talking on an electronics front.   Ive no idea how it handles life within an engine block, no doubt it will be fine.  Me saying it erodes petty fast is probably not accurate in the wider spectrum, but im talking in comparison to gold.  If were comparing, isnt iridium regarded as the most corrosion resistant of the elements?

What i want to know is ultimately, how much better is it than an Iridium plug, probably negligible is what i reckon.

I think you need a science geek forum Sy

Nology say the lifetime of the plug is 20,000 miles and is specially made for tuned/high performance engines. Silver is recognised as the best electrical conductor on the planet, so for under £50 notes it is worth a punt for me, especially as the plugs that were in (NGK Iridiums) went tits up after just 3k miles.

I can't say after using them for a week that they are the best ever plugs, but they do tick the right boxes at the moment and are working well. :happy2:

How much for a set Alex?  Are these ok for stage 1 TFSI... Do they need changing more often than the Iridiums?

£40-£50. I'm running them with Revo stage 1 fitted by Alex. Runs fine IMO no problems. Small price to pay if they need changing every 20k miles. Tbh on mapped vehicles plugs shud be changed at 20k miles!

Great stuff, I might give them a go... can get them delivered for £40, or £35 for the Plats, so not much more... cheers :happy2:

found my sweet spot to be 0.75.  You can definitely notice the difference.

They give good results on the mk4 also.  :drinking:

Yes and no!

I'm waiting for an intake manifold to be delivered and then direct port WMI and manifold flap delete will get done at the same time. :happy2:
