That Mk2 sounds epic.. I just hope it delivers on the strip

What time are you boys heading there? I reckon I'm going to swing down for the morning to watch some strip action (something I would normally do on a Sat night  :rolleye: :signLOL:)..

Today I visited the Pod for the first time since having the GIAC maps and WMI on and this was the result.....

Thanks for the vids Luke :happy2:

It was a bad day for trying to set any records. I'm glad I left the race fuel at home for the day and just ran the V-Power and WMI for a baseline. Best run of the day was a 12.3038 with a 1.7741 sixty foot time, the terminal should have been somewhere between 108 & 109mph, but something blew past one of the speed sensors and bagged me a 130.67mph terminal instead!. The car was full weight including over half a tank of fuel, another 5 litres of water to clean the car, 2 helmets, various cleaning stuff and all Luke's videoing stuff plus his rucksack. The headwind was atrocious and knocked a little off my times and also just happened to be the hottest day of the year to date! The car wasn't running perfectly as it seemed to have some power loss going into 5th gear....just seemed a little "thinner" than normal! Anyway, just 0.03 seconds off the 4WD K04 record in those conditions isn't too bad at all. :happy2:
Golf R gone.

You can hear it run out on 5th gear.... seems to bog a little.

Still bloody quick mate... so dont be to worried. That head wind was a killer..... if it was blowing the opposite way you would have seen some epic times  :happy2:

Sure does. Approximately 0.2 seconds for the run added with the passenger! :happy2:

well dond, It was good to watch the launch from the R, gets the power down brilliantly.

Did you factor the 18-23mph head wind?? That was a time killer, a lot of my cars running .4 .5 down from there last years runs.  But we did manage to get 2 PBs 10.6s 4wd mk4 and 11.8s 2wd mk4

Did you take fastest Mk5 time of the day?

It launches WAY better than the R32s..... you can see the R32s bog as the haldex decides what to have for breakfast...  :signLOL:
