Looks great John! Can you explain the benefits of using the boost controller please?

Also out of interest what were the random issues?

Thanks

The WMI is now controlled though the controller Jake :happy2:  I already have the RS3 LPFP fitted, so now everything is on the car ready to have a Loba upgrade myself.

I think I will go for the L0400 first as I've always said that a fast spooling 400bhp 4WD DSG car would be ideal and user friendly in the real world. The L04XX is a great turbo and spools reasonably well, but the L0400 spools quicker than a stock K04 and will give me the 400bhp I crave. :happy2:

Just the turbo, injectors and a map revision and Robert is your mothers brother. :jumpmove:

The OEM boost can only ever be 1.5 bar as that is all the map sensor can handle/read. Using a boost controller enables the car to be set at higher values of boost and therefore with tuning give more power and torque. It will be even more useful once the L0400 is fitted, so basically it is partially preparation work for the upgrade turbo too :happy2:

The boost controller gives a higher level of available boost, which is what I will require when going for a turbo upgrade. For the K04 it helps stop the torque spike and over boost, it also helps maintain a higher boost.

ED30 and Golf R have a 2,0 Bar MAP sensor, not 1,5 Bar to my knowledge

Yep. All K04 cars use 3 bar map sensor. K03 cars use 2.5 bar sensor.

Does the eboost work as a progressive wmi controller, injecting at different rates depending on boost?

I drove an Ed30 with an lo380 yesterday. Instant boost. Drove really well.

Apologies, I thought it was 1.5 bar (2.5 inc atmospheric).

I haven't looked into that much detail Alex, but yes it controls WMI progressively. Jake would probably know a little more.

Yes the Loba turbos are finally catching on now.  :happy2:
