Lovely, weather always seems to come good for this event.

I think my best was a 29.3 on PS2s and full weight. Be interesting to see how far the R with 80 more powers and 4WD improves on that.
Sideways yo!

The day was great. The organisation was spot on and the weather and company couldn't have been much better.

The "R" is a wallowy beast compared to the Ed30 and the Polo and probably Curby isn't the best track for it as it cannot really stretch it's legs and use all the power. I haven't got a clue what times I did apart from the 30.6 I did with TFSi Mike in the passenger seat. The video looks like a 30 second flat lap, but beyond that I don't know as the results haven't been posted yet. The "R" was two up with even the spare and tools onboard for all bar two laps, and three of those two up laps were probably slower as Mike and I couldn't help but try the launch control  :driver:

There was some serious kit there and I'd guess next time out I'll chop a fair bit off the times as I've only had her 10 days and still getting to know her.

Oh agreed, really shows you what light weight does when you see stripped MKIs with 150hp 3 seconds a lap (10% faster) than you. Nice to get a benchmark on it though.

Great place and event though I agree.

I think the quickest time was Andy DeFreitas' Audi 3.2 Rotrex'd V6 Quattro with sticky tyres and Bilsteins. Andy knows the circuit as well as me though, but he can make his car work it very well.

And today's exploits at the same place have resulted in the following. This was done with the addition of the Evoms intake, an almost empty fuel tank, no spare in the boot and most importantly using launch control and letting the gears change automatically (unlike the first outing where my brain was wired to skip most of first gear manually) and a relatively cool engine.

To say I'm impressed is an understatement.   :jumpmove:

Thats great for stage 1, i was out in my stage 2+ eddy today with the race logic and could only manage a 5.4 !
Crappy tyres right enough but it did feel as good as i could get on the vreds all my other runs were 5.7 - 5.9 ish

Just shows the differance dsg and 4wd makes !
What was your 30-50 and 50-70 times

You can calculate the 30-50 and 50-70 times from the racelogic pic.

30-50 works out at --- 1.6 seconds
50-70 works out at --- 2.2 seconds

add them together and you get the 30-70 on the screen at 3.8 seconds  :happy2:

Ah sneaky I was 1.8 and 1.9 i think the DSG gear change must make the differance on the 30-50
